Disney Springs Drone Show

Now through September 2 see the unique evening show “Dreams That Soar” for free at Disney Springs. The show features an amazing array of 800 drones that dance across the sky for nearly 10 minutes to Disney music and dialogue, creating images of characters from Disney movies like Toy Story, Coco, Dumbo, and Star Wars. Check the calendar from the link above, but it is mainly scheduled nightly at 9:00 PM or 10:45 PM.

For best viewing arrive 30 minutes before the showtime and get as close to the water as possible with no trees or buildings obstructing your view. You also want to be in that area shown on the map below in yellow where the music / narration is played from a loudspeaker. You can see it from other areas but the experience will not be as rich.

Don’t Travel with a Disney Adult

For the last 20 years we’ve been a Disney family. We have loved traveling to “the World”, Disneyland, and Disney Cruises at least a couple of times a year.

It’s become a running joke for us when we visit places around the world we comment on how much “they are like Disney”. For example,
– When we visited Yellowstone National Park, it felt like the Disney Wilderness Lodge. They even have a geyser there!

– When we went to Paris…it felt like Epcot’s France pavilion. When the kids were young we posted a Christmas card photo from Epcot in Florida Disney World with the Eiffel Tower in the background. We had people comment that it was so great to travel with our kids around the world when they are so young. Well it was…just a bit easier due to being in Florida!

Disney is art imitating the world…and it’s so realistic that actually visiting those places “feels like Disney.”

Well Disney World is a lot like traveling all around the world but with the convenience of staying in the US, having a lot shorter plane ride, and not spending as much to do it.

So the question is “Why travel anywhere else?”

At least if you have a limited budget…skip the trip to Europe, Japan, China, Germany, Mexico, Morocco, Italy, Norway, England, Canada, etc. and visit the Epcot World Showcase at Disney World. The buildings are amazing, the foods are authentic, and they even employ people from the original countries that speak the language. Take the time to enjoy the restaurants and shop for the full experience.

A Star Wars Fan Dream Room

If you’re a Star Wars fan and have heard of the Disney Galactic Starcruiser, you might know that it is an expensive 2-day experience near Hollywood Studios and Galaxy’s Edge. In September 2023 this adventure is officially coming to an end you will not be able to experience it any more.

Our Star Wars themed room at Lelani Beach Club is inspired by the Starcruiser’s Halcyon guest rooms and is included with all stays. It is now one of the few ways available in the world to experience a restful night with some of this Star Wars magic.

Disney World at Christmas

Disney World has amazing Christmas decorations every year. All the parks and resorts have amazing lights, trees, wreaths, ornaments, etc.

In addition, every year during the Christmas season Disney holds a special reading of the Holy Scriptures celebrating the story of the birth of Christ. A celebrity actor or actress reads the words with some commentary accompanied by a large chorus of singers and full orchestra. The Candlelight Processional is an amazingly inspirational event that happens twice nightly for several months at the largest covered stage at Epcot in front of the American pavilion.

Walt Disney started this Christmas tradition 60 years ago and it has gone on every year since that time. It is a favorite of our family that we have seen several times.

Here’s a video of the Candlelight Processional from Disney Epcot Center we saw on December 24, 2022. This particular one included Marie Osmond as the celebrity reading the Christmas story accompanied by a live orchestra and choir.
